PRESIDENT | MARY AKDEMIR

Mary is a senior studying Philosophy and Global Liberal Studies. Her interests surround the status of indigenous minorities in the Middle East, with a focus on human rights and endangered languages. In addition to The Review, Mary's writing has also appeared in The Nation

 

 
VICE PRESIDENT | JENNIFER DUBOIS

Jenny is a senior studying Economics and Computer Science. As secretary, she handles the club's administrative tasks. She has a tough time deciding between pretending to understand algorithmic trading on Reddit, napping, or scrolling through memes.

Medina is a senior studying Global Liberal Studies, Philosophy, and French. She is interested in political philosophy and creative writing. She enjoys reading books by Haruki Murakami and writing about food and philosophy.   

 


DEBATE DIRECTOR | JENNIFER HEIMAN

Jennifer is a sophomore studying Global Liberal Studies. As an avid fan of both participating in and observing debates, she believes in the power of organized discourse to form a more empathetic society. In her free time she enjoys rereading her favorite novels and exploring NYC in pursuit of cheap dumplings. 


DEBATE DIRECTOR | ANAND BALAJI
Anand is a senior at NYU Stern studying Finance and Data Science with a minor in Politics. Anand was born and raised in Northern California and has strong interests in the fields of politics, law, and business. He spent his junior summer working in the investment banking division at J.P. Morgan. Aside from his role at The Review & Debates, Anand is also an active member of the NYU Finance Society. 

OUTREACH DIRECTOR | NATALIE SHUTTS

Natalie is a junior studying Politics and Economics, with plans to pursue a career in U.S. foreign policy. She is interested in the nexus of national security, international development, and global trade. When she’s not posting on The Review and Debates’ Facebook and Twitter, she enjoys talking up her home state of California and pretending to understand her Arabic homework.

Tvisha Mehta is a senior studying Economics in the College of Arts and Science. Previously an editor for The Review, she is re-joining the club as Treasurer. She is passionate about current affairs, government policy, international relations  In her free time, you can find her binge watching a new tv show or in search of something sweet to eat.



SECRETARY | DOMINIC SCHLOSSBERG
 
Dominic is a freshman studying International Relations in the College of Arts and Science. He is particularly interested in issues related to refugees, migration, and development. As a debater throughout high school, Dominic understands the importance of fostering discourse on complex issues.
